A configuration module that was previously visible in the ProfileUnity console is no longer appearing. Where did it go?
Symptom
One or more configuration modules — such as INI Files, Outlook, Office Options, Profile Cleanup, or FlexDisk — are no longer visible in the ProfileUnity Management Console navigation after upgrading to 6.9.5.
The modules have not been removed from the product. They may have been intentionally or accidentally hidden using a new administration setting introduced in 6.9.5.
Cause
The Miscellaneous section of the Administration page includes checkboxes to hide individual configuration modules from the console navigation. This capability has existed in earlier versions of ProfileUnity; 6.9.5 expanded the list of modules that can be hidden. If modules that were previously visible have disappeared after an upgrade or a recent administration change, this is the first place to check.
If a module checkbox was checked — whether intentionally by an administrator or inadvertently — the corresponding module will no longer appear in the left-hand navigation. A logout or page refresh is required for visibility changes to take effect.
Resolution
Step 1 — Open the Administration page
Log in to the ProfileUnity Management Console with an account that has administrative rights. Click Administration in the left-hand navigation.
Step 2 — Navigate to the Miscellaneous section
Scroll down the Administration page to the Miscellaneous section. This section contains checkboxes for hiding specific modules grouped by area.
Step 3 — Uncheck the hidden module
Locate the checkbox for the missing module and uncheck it to restore visibility. The available hide options are:

| Checkbox | Module Hidden When Checked |
|---|---|
| Hide INI Files Module | INI Files configuration module |
| Hide Internet Explorer Module | Internet Explorer configuration module |

Step 4 — Save and refresh
Click Update or Save in the Miscellaneous section after making changes.
Additional Notes
- The module visibility controls have been available since earlier versions of ProfileUnity. ProfileUnity 6.9.5 expanded the list of modules that can be hidden. If you are on 6.8.7 or earlier and a module is missing, the same Miscellaneous section applies — check which modules are checked there.
- Hiding a module does not disable or delete any configurations within it — all rules and settings are preserved. The module is simply not visible in the navigation until it is unhidden.
- Only users with Administration access in the ProfileUnity console can view or change these settings. If you cannot access the Administration page, contact your ProfileUnity administrator.
- This feature is intended to simplify the console interface for environments that do not use certain modules. Liquidware Support recommends keeping all modules visible unless there is a specific operational reason to hide them.
