Problem:
After a VMware Horizion Agent 8.4.0 installation/upgrade and deployment, users log in but are immediately disconnected/logged out of their session.
Solution:
- If your ProfileUnity software is installed into the master\golden image you must uninstall, reboot and reinstall the ProfileUnity client from the master image after upgrading the Horizion Agent to 8.4.0.
- After the ProfileUnity client is reinstalled, open regedit and browse to the following regkeys: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Liquidware Labs\ProfileUnity
HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Liquidware Labs\ProfileUnity
Look at the ExpectedUserinit value. If it shows the following: C:\Program Files\ProfileUnity\userinit.exe,C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Agent\bin\vmlm_helper.exe,C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Agent\bin\wssm.exe
Change it to:
C:\Program Files\ProfileUnity\userinit.exe,C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Agent\bin\wssm.exe
Save that change and redeploy your VDI pools. - Should the ExpectedUserinit value already show: C:\Program Files\ProfileUnity\userinit.exe,C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Agent\bin\wssm.exe
There is nothing further that needs to be done. Deploy your VDI pools.
- After the ProfileUnity client is reinstalled, open regedit and browse to the following regkeys: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Liquidware Labs\ProfileUnity
- If you install the ProfileUnity Client software via the GPO startup script and it is NOT installed in the master\golden image, check the following regkey in the master image:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Verify/Change the Userinit value to:
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\userinit.exe,C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Agent\bin\wssm.exe
