Stratusphere 6.5.x Anonymity Option Breaks CID Reporting, Checks-in But Does Not Send Reports

Summary

The purpose of this KB is to address a change in the CID Agent reporting to the HUB that breaks the  Anonymity option setting.

Issues list

1. CID agent checks in to the Stratusphere and gives last contact with Machine Name and not the encrypted name and does not send reports into the DB.

 

Resolution

Download the attached patch to be executed on HUB and Collector appliances.

1. UDownload the attached shell script to your desktop.

a. Use WinSCP or a similar application to SFTP the patch to each HUB/Collector as friend/sspassword. Place the privacyfix.sh file in the /home/friend directory.

b. SSH to each appliance as friend/sspassword then execute the following commands:

      • cd /home/friend

        chown root:root privacyfix.sh

        chmod +x privacyfix.sh

        ./privacyfix.sh

         

 

Additional info

  1. You may need to delete the user and machine from the inventory if already checked in.
  2. You will need to reregister the machine by using the "Host is not Registered KB" or simply reinstalling the agent on target machine.
  3. Expected error messages on local machine where cid is installed:
