Mass deploying Stratusphere CID Agent To mac with Apple Remote Desktop Deployment Tool

Problem:

  1. Deploying Connector ID Agent aka CID using MAC Remote Desktop Deployment Tool strips the installer pkg off the mgrcert.pem file required to to communicate to the HUB

 Guide

 

1. Open MAC Remote Desktop Utility.

2. Download the MAC Installer pkg from the HUB.

3. Decompress the installer and extract the mgrcert.pem file from the installer.

a. Alternatively, if you have the agent installed on your MAC you can use that mgrcert.pem to push using the deployment tool

4. Deploy the CID pkg file to the desktops using the deployment tool and install.

5. Follow up with deploying the mgrcert.pem file into the  install directory using the deployment tool placing it here on the target MAC:

/Library/Application Support/Connector ID.app/key_material/public/mgrcert.pem

 

6. You may or may not need to restart the services on the target machine using the deployment tool by sending a command or via ssh-ing to the target MAC:
