Problem:
ProfileDisk does not detach at logoff. This is mostly an issue where the VDI session is persistent or physical. While the issue exists in Non-Persistent VDI the desktop at sign out is refreshed back to the pool and the disk would detach at restart.
Resolution:
NOTE: This is a known problem with UAC being on
For administrators the UAC has to be turned off.
For non-administrators (regular users) the UAC can be turned on as desired
You can identify this issue by checking the VHD log for ProfileDisk
(the log by default is located in C:\windows\temp\ProfileUnity, and it should be in a format of 2020-12-04UTC11-23-18-371_vhd.log).
If you are running to this problem, the relevant vhd log will end with the below two lines.
