Problem:
Connector ID needs to be installed on an AWS Appstream Image Builder so that it can obtain metrics about the streaming desktop and associate them with the proper computer name.
Possible resolution:
*Not necessary in CID version 6.5.1+ which automatically detects a hostname change.
On the Appstream Image Builder, we need to be sure that the Connector ID agent is prepped. To do so, run C:\Program Files (x86)\Liquidware Labs\Connector ID\admin scripts\VMWareView_MasterImagePrep.bat as admin. Once the script completes, be sure that the 3 Liquidware services are stopped/manual startup and that C:\Program Files (x86)\Liquidware Labs\Connector ID\cert.txt is deleted before snapping the image.
Then, on the fleet machines, we need to start and set to automatic the 3 Liquidware services. This is done by using domain startup GPO to execute C:\Program Files (x86)\Liquidware Labs\Connector ID\admin scripts\VMWareView_PostSyncScript.bat in an OU that contains the fleet machines:
If this is not possible because the fleet is not domain joined or some other reason, you may be able to use an Appstream Session Script to run the post sync script before the session begins. This would have to be tested to be sure login metrics are not missed. See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/appstream2/latest/developerguide/use-session-scripts.html
