Problem:
Machines running ProfileUnity Client have .NET runtime errors in the Applications Event Log containing the following:
.NET Runtime version 4.0.30319.34011 - There was a failure initializing profiling API attach infrastructure. This process will not allow a profiler to attach. HRESULT: 0x80004005. Process ID (decimal): 3932. Message ID: [0x2509].
Details:
Windows attaches a "profiler" to all .NET executables upon launch and is unable to do so with our processes because of a security-related change to how our EXE's are launched in the user-space. This change reduces the attack surface of the ProfileUnity Client processes and these messages are a side-effect of this change.
Workaround:
Due to the nature of the issue and the required fix, there is no workaround at this time. These messages can be considered expected and are safe to ignore for all ProfileUnity processes.
