Problem:
I have all non admin users and I would like them not be able to lunch an application.
Symptoms:
The user's are able to open all application on the machine.
Possible Resolution(s):
Here six ways to stop certain group of users users lunch application.
To create an application restriction Edit ProfileUnity configuration and create a new rule in "Applications Restriction" Module with one of the six options:
- Contains (Path to application contains)
- Equals (Full Path to application)
- Hash (SHA265 hash of application)
- Starts With (Path to application starts with)
- Ends With (Path to application ends with)
- Signed (Digital signature signer of application)
Example:
- Filter: (Select filter which is set to a AD group of users)
- Description: This group "A" will not be able to open Firefox
- Action: Deny
- Match: Contains
- Value: C:\Program Files\Mozilla
(The user should not be able to launch any application from "Mozilla" folder and sub folders located in c:\Program Files\Mozilla)
