Problem:
UniPrint service does not start with ProfileUnity installed
Symptoms:
UniPrint service is stopped at logon (example of UniPrint service running below)
Resolution:
In this scenario customer decided to use UniPrint to manage the printers, and ProfileUnity is not used to manage/capture printers.
Before proceeding please refer to the following KB
Please disable the following features
4 Print Spooler Restart
32768 Client.NET Printers
NOTE: To disable both (or more) features at the same time you need to sum up the values to get one number. In this case (considering there are no other features that needs to be disabled, or that features are not disabled already), we calculate the value below the following way.
32768+4 = 32772
Please add the following Registry settings (it is possible to add these settings in ProfileUnity Registry module)
- Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Key: Software\Liquidware Labs\ProfileUnity
- Type: REG_SZ
- Value: DisableFeature
- Data: 32772
With both features disabled UniPrint application should run properly.
Product: ProfileUnity
Product Version: 6.5+
