Problem: I have a lot of Network Stations to update to 5.8.0 and the Upgrade option in the Station Administration section of the webUI only works after the HUB has been upgraded to 5.8.1 or higher and the network stations have been upgraded to 5.8.x.
Resolution:
The attached script package will facilitate the updating of all Network Station attached to a given HUB. It requires the Network Stations have direct Internet access (http port 80) to be able to download updates. The script will check for updates, install updates and reboot.
It will only update each release at a time. Sometimes only a single update is needed and the version of the appliance won't change, but the next run will install many patches and then show the new version. Keep running the script and waiting for Network Stations to reboot before repeating until they're up to at least 5.8.0 where you can instead upgrade them going forward via the webUI - Administration, Station Administration - highlight stations and hit Upgrade.
1. Upload attached update-all.tgz file to your Stratusphere HUB appliance using WinSCP as friend/sspassword to the first directory shown in WinSCP (/home/friend)
2. SSH to the HUB using Putty as friend/sspassword
Execute the following commands:
3. tar -zxvf update-all.tgz
4. cd update-all
5. su
6. ./update-all.sh
This script requires all passwords (both friend and root) be the default sspassword and that all Network Stations are already joined to or registered with the HUB in question.
Product: Stratusphere FIT/UX
Product Version: Stratusphere Network Stations 5.7.x or earlier (this is no longer needed once HUB is at 5.8.1 or higher and Network Stations at 5.8.0 or higher - see latest release notes for station upgrades if already at 5.8.0)
