Problem:

How do I determine which hardware version of VA for Stratusphere is deployed.

 

Symptoms:

I need to know if I need to migrate to newer 5.7 version of VA or the VA version I have is already new VA layout.

 

Possible Resolution(s):

The simple way to determine the appliance type is as follows:

  1.  
    1. Log into the console of the Hub and Database appliance using friend/sspassword.
    2. Execute the following statement:
      1. cat /proc/swaps
      2. If you see the following output on the machine where the swap space is allocated on /dev/sdb1 then it is a 5.7.x version of the appliance. If not, then it’s the older version of the appliance.
