Problem:
No ProfileUnity splash screen at logon. ProfileUnity does not apply any settings at logon
Symptoms:
ProfileUnity installs during logon on the client, but there is no ProfileUnity splash screen. No settings get restored.
Another symptom is a lack of the following registry entry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ProfileUnity (In 5.7 and older)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Liquidware\ProfileUnity (6.0 and newer)
Possible Resolution(s):
Most common solution to this problem is to verify the following :
- The INI file path in the GPO's Profile Unity Administrative tools is correct.
- The ProfileUnity Administrative Tools are installed and enabled in GP.
- The INI file is correct. It is not necessary to open the INI file, however, it is a good practice to re-download the INI file in such cases as the one described in this KB article. It appears that in several cases replacing an INI file with a freshly downloaded INI configuration has fixed this problem.
