Problem:
Word 2013 is slow during spellcheck. Pauses of up to 30 seconds between words can be observed.
Symptoms:
Running Process Monitor in the 'slow' scenario shows PATH NOT FOUND on C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\UProof\ExcludeDictionaryEN0409.lex
That directory does not exist in this scenario.
Workaround:
1. Create a batch file with command:
mkdir "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\UProof"
Put the batch file in a shared directory with the same permissions as the NETLOGON\ProfileUnity (in other words, able to be run by anyone).
2. Set up an Application Launcher rule to run the script after ProU execution. This will create that directory if it does not exist. If it does exist, nothing will happen.
3. Add a rule to the 'Office 2013' Portability ruleset to:
Merge System Root Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\UProof
This will back up the contents of the UProof directory if it exists, so Word will not need to recreate the file every time.
