Problem:
Redirection Issue - The folder structure is created at logon, but no files are being copied over.
Symptoms:
If both of the below conditions are true, it is very likely an issue with a short AD name. The minimum number of letters in the AD name should be at least 3 characters. Tests show that there is an issue with redirecting users who have less then 4 letters in the username.
Condition 1
The shell folders are not redirected. The easiest way to check that is to open regedit and navigate to the following registry tree.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
The below example shows that the folders have not been redirected (the "Data" column shows C:\Users\[...] local directory).
Condition 2
The redirected location does not have any data; however, the folder structure is created.
For example, if the intended redirected location folder is... \\server\Share\Document ... the directory should list folders, but there should be no files in the folders.
Possible Resolution(s):
As a workaround, it is recommended to use more then 3 letters (minimum 4) in the usernames.
NOTE: It is a known issue, and it will be resolved in 6.0
