Problem:
Change Linux account passwords used to SSH or console into the hub, database and collector appliances.
Possible resolution:
- The passwords for each appliance are set independently. Log into all via console or SSH client with default credentials ssconsole/sspassword
-
- if the ssconsole password is lost, you can log in as friend and run sudo lwl
- cloud appliances SSH in as ec2-user or azureuser and run sudo lwl
-
- This will bring up the Liquidware menu, choose option P for Passwords (case insensitive) and hit Enter:
- Here you can change the passwords for root, friend and ssconsole users:
- A warning will appear if a dictionary password is detected. You may ignore the warning (not recommended) by typing in the password a second time and hitting Enter:
- After confirming the password, you should see a success message. Keep the current session open and and start a new one to test any passwords that were changed.
- Quit and log out of ssconsole using the Q options, run exit to end any other SSH sessions
