Problem:
Unable to add a node to a ProfileUnity 6.8.5 cluster, the error presented is "Remote node https://<pu_consolename.com:8000/' did not communicate back."
This is most likely do to certificate failure on one of the nodes please check for valid certificate on ALL nodes:
Open this link to all consoles from any browser on the network:
https://FQDN_console_1_name.com:443/api/getlicensingcertificate
On the pop-up login box, login with the prou_services account and password.
The correct output should look like this:
(The line should start with: {"success":true,.....})
If there is a problem the result will look like this:
(The line would start with: [success":false,.....})
Resolution:
On the console which shows "false" (fails to generate certificate) please remove (and re-install new) "Liquidware ProfileUnity License Server Certificate" by following steps below:
- Open mmc.exe on the server
- File>Add Snapin>Certificate "Open" >Local Computer
- Delete ALL "Liquidware ProfileUnity License" Certificates from:
- Personal/Certificates
- Trusted Root Certification Authorities/Certificates
- Example 1:
- Example 2:
- Go to services and restart "Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity Licensing Service" (This will generate a new Liquidware ProfileUnity License" Certificate)
- Try again to test the certificate with this page: https://FQDN_console_1_name.com:443/api/getlicensingcertificate
- If the result is "success":true Restart ProfileUnity Server wait 5 minutes and try to add node again to the cluster.
