Issue capturing application on VHD or using VMDK. Local install for application works

Problem: 

Certain apps may have difficulty capturing when using a network path (vhd) or vSphere - ESXi Datastore (vmdk).  The errors in FlexApp Packaging Console (fpc) logs or in UI may not differentiate that the error is related to capturing to a path that is not local.

 

Possible Solution:

The below resolution is considered more a potential troubleshooting step, for instance when other potential avenues have been exhausted. 

 

Capturing package locally.

Steps

  • Create a new package
  • Select a local location

  • Capture app as normal. 

Once complete we can select the newly captured app and choose clone.

  • Select the desired new path and type (VHD/VMDK)

  • Deploy and test the application
