Description
When attempting to set a printer as the default printer in Windows, the correct default is not set or retained on consecutive logins.
Resolution
There are currently limitations around Windows 10 and post-login printers being to set correctly. As of ProfileUnity 6.5.10, these are as follows:
As seen above, Windows 10 is mainly effected by current limitations around User set default printers, leaving some scenarios unsupported - which will be addressed in an upcoming release of ProfileUnity. In the meantime, it is recommended to switch either to ‘At login’ printers or to Admin default set Printers.
In the scenarios that do work, but require a separate ini to run first, this can be accomplished by putting all Printers into a separate configuration/ini and naming that ProU configuration so that it comes before the main ProU configuration alphabetically. For example, if the main configuration is named “Basic Config” name your printer config “All Printers” to be processed first by the ProfileUnity client.
These scenarios will also be addressed in an upcoming release of ProfileUnity.
