Problem:
Logoff can appear to hang or delay for 30 seconds or more before the ProfileUnity splash screen appears at logoff.
Symptoms:
Logoff can appear to hang or delay for 30 seconds or more before the ProfileUnity splash screen appears at logoff. This can be seen on desktop where there is no external internet access or strict proxy rules. This is due to Windows checking for root certificate updates / certificate chain.
The logoff does complete successfully regardless of the delay.
Possible Resolution(s):
You can address this by modifying the LwL.ProfileUnity.Client.Logoff.exe.config on the netlogon (or share) where client tools reside
1. Edit on netlogon LwL.ProfileUnity.Client.Logoff.exe.config
2. At the end of the file, just before the </runtime> line, add the following line in bold, save the file, (make sure if using notepad to show all files when saving so not to save as .config.txt).
3. Test logoff
Example:
<generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
SO like this
</assemblyBinding>
-->
<generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
</runtime>
