Problem:
When trying to Update the configuration in ProfileUnity console I receive an error.
Symptoms:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Possible Resolution(s):
There is a problem with the syntax in your configuration.
Please check for:
1) Unusual variables used in configuration
2) Portability rules which could be missing:
Path
Ruleset
If the problem is not found, troubleshoot using instructions below:
Make a copy of the configuration (clone it)
Than edit the new copy and start removing all the rules from each module, once done select "Update". If update accepted than it means you found the "Module" which is causing syntax error.
Once you find the module (ex. "Portability" or "Application Launcher" etc.) Try to remove each rule and select "Update" after each change. At certain point you should remove a rule that is causing this and the "Update" will be accepted.
Fix the rule which is creating the syntax error or contact LwL Support for more instructions.
