Problem:
Pdf previewer functionality in Outlook (other potential programs where it uses a PDF previewer within the context of the application) is not working.
6.8.4R2 - Previously this appeared to be functional up to and around late Q2 2022, but at present no longer appears to work for Windows 10 & Windows 11
6.8.5- Presently as tested with 6.8.5 FPC and 6.8.5 Client tools (coming in Q1 2023) works without intervention for Windows 11.
Currently Windows 10 and 6.8.4R2 - 6.8.5 do not work for previewer aspect only
Resolution:
The Windows default previewer can be used to preview PDF files in Outlook and Windows Explorer.
There are 2 options.
- Option 1: Edit your existing Adobe Acrobat FlexApp.
In the FlexApp Packaging Console, select the option to edit your Adobe Acrobat FlexApp.- Navigate to Registry > HKLM > Software > Classes > .pdf
- Delete the ShellEx regkey and save your changes.
- Option 2: Add a registry rule in your existing configuration.
- In your configuration navigate to the Registry Module and click on Add Registry Rule
- Use the following options:
